Rx–Info receives many requests from users, particularly new to the system to understand which Trust ID is which Trust, when reviewing the Define reports. The Trust ID is used to protect the data within the NHS and to prevent information being leaked outside of the NHS. Users of the system need to understand who they are benchmarking with and an understanding of the other Trusts in the comparison group is valuable.

With growing interest in the NHSBSA publication of the Secondary Care Medicines Data feed (SCMD) including the analytics by GPRx, OpenPrescribing and others, there are more questions about what differences there are between the open source SCMD and the data used by Rx–info systems within the NHS.
