EmBox Software
Posted in News
Embox is a product in the Rx-info portfolio which is designed to enable reliable and rapid identification and tracking of the expiration dates, batch numbers and locations of emergency drug boxes in a hospital. The easy-to-use internet-based software allows the users to considerably reduce time required to fill, record and track emergency drug boxes resulting in a process which uses an intelligent auto-fill feature to efficiently enter date. This is much faster than the traditional time intensive paper-based system used in most pharmacy systems.
The software allows specific authorised users to set up, check and issue multiple types of emergency boxes e.g cardiac arrest, paediatric arrest and anaphylaxis, which have been approved by the lead anaesthetist.
The box history section of the software allows individuals in the hospital to track emergency boxes, monitor any changes to contents or expiry dates (including a pre-emptive 3-month expiry window), box authorisations and monitor statistics of reasons for returns. EmBox also allows the user to identify which drugs expire unused most frequently and uses a standardised batch and expiry tracking to identify the location and contents of a particular box to allow easy drug recall, redistribution and management of stock.
